Opening Ceremony

Our Opening Ceremony continues to be a highlight for many families. It is wonderful to be able to welcome our new students into our community via a Year 12 Guard of Honour, led by a bagpiper.

At the Opening Ceremony, we also welcomed the following new academic staff:

Mr Daniel Ryall

Mr Ryall joins the Rostrevor College Community as Head of Mathematics, having been in an equivalent role at Gleeson College for the last three years. He has taught for seven years in the areas of Mathematics and Physics.

Mr Ryall enjoys spending time outdoors where possible, which is easily achieved chasing his four young children; 2 girls and 2 boys all under the age of 6. Before having his children, he played both soccer and cricket and now goes on camping trips wherever possible.

Mr Ryall is looking forward to meeting and working with the staff, students and families of the College.

Mr Adrian Terminello

Mr Terminello returns to Rostrevor College after previously working in the Learning Centre in 2012. He has since completed a Masters of Social Work in addition to his Bachelor of Psychology and is a Registered Social Worker and Counsellor.

He spent the past two years in a counselling role at Para Hills Primary and Ingle Farm East Primary, and prior to that worked in the Learning Centre at Sacred Heart College. He also works as a Counsellor in private practice.

Mr Terminello is an old scholar who has a devoted Christian faith and believes strongly in the mission of Rostrevor College, and empowering young men holistically to reach their full potential educationally, emotionally and spiritually.

Ms Natasha Edwards

Ms Edwards is joining the Rostrevor College community in the Science Faculty as a Laboratory Technician. Prior to this role she held the position of Senior Research Scientist at the University of Adelaide in Animal & Veterinary Science. She has a Bachelor of Science in Medical Laboratory Science and has worked in medical pathology and research in both Australia and England.

Ms Edwards is looking forward to using her science background to encourage students to take an active interest in the sciences and question the way the world around them works.

Ms Karolina Pasierbek

Ms Pasierbek joins our community as our College Psychologist. She has been a practicing psychologist for some years and has worked as a consultant for the Department of Education and Children's Services where she has had responsibility for overseeing the psychological services in fifteen schools in South Australia.

Ms Tara Russell

Ms Russell will be working with Dr Carol Mayes on the delivery of our VET Animal Studies course. Ms Russell is a qualified Veterinary Nurse and will continue in the role of Animal Studies Trainer on a part-time basis.

Ms Deb Winchester

We also welcome Ms Deb Winchester who will take on the roles of College Receptionist and Personal Assistant to Mr Terry Roberts, EREA Regional Director.

Mr Rohan Powell

We welcome back Mr Rohan Powell who will be replacing Mr Osman for Term 1 while on leave. Most of you would be familiar with Mr Powell, particularly those who are members of the Music Department.

To all our new staff we are excited to have you join our team, and know that you will enjoy working at Rostrevor.

It also gives me great pleasure to announce some new internal appointments;

  • Ms Belinda DeConno-Coward was appointed to the role of VET & Careers Coordinator (a role she has held before here at Rostrevor).

  • Mr Peter Steel will now be the Head of Science, and we thank Mr Beltrame for his many years of service.

  • Ms Sonja Robinson was appointed to the position of Coordinator Administration and Reliefs.

  • Ms Stefanie Caruana has returned to her role as Personal Assistant to the Principal.

  • Ms Bev Beneke has moved to the Junior Campus as JY Receptionist & WHS Officer.

  • Ms Sandra Mestros takes on the role of Development & Community Relationships Manager, and will be responsible for organising all of our major events.
