Senior Years Co-Curricular News

Mr Jeff Fischer
Head of Co-Curricular Activities

With the majority of sporting teams now concluding their involvement for the term, there are only a number of soccer teams in the Junior Years competing in regular competitions. Congratulations need to go to the 9A soccer team who defeated Underdale High 4-1 in their recent semi-final to gain entry to the State Knockout final to be played on Thursday 21st September. Additionally, the 8B Black and Senior Black debating teams have qualified for the quarter finals to be held next week.

Winter Co-Curricular Assembly

This week the coaches have been asked to tally their votes and make a decision to award one player from each team as MVP for the various activities.  The winter co-curricular assembly will be held on Friday 15th September and the boys who have been selected to receive an award will receive notification in the mail.

In other Co-curricular News:

  • The 1st XVIII Gosse Football Medal is an award that is voted upon by the association umpires and recognizes the best player in the Division 1 Competition.  Rostrevor's Murphy Short and Mihail Lochowiak have finished as Rostrevor's top vote getters and are in contention for the award. We wish them all the best at the count being held on Monday next week.

  • 10A footballers enjoyed a great win against Immanuel with dominant forwards Stefan Lanzoni and Tyrone Coulthard adding another 3 goals each to their tally for the year.

  • 8A Footballer Felix Brasher helped the 8A football team maintain their 5 game winning streak for the term by booting a goal with the last kick of the game. With the game in the balance, Felix coolly slotted the final major for the match to see Rostrevor defeat Sacred Heart by 5 points.

If your son, be he a current or past scholar, has made any significant achievement in an activity outside of the College, please pass this on to me via email to jfischer@rostrevor.sa.edu.au or by phone, so that I can include his achievements in the weekly newsletter.
