The Duke of Edinburgh Award is a component of the Co-curricular programme at Rostrevor College. It is open to boys from Years 9 - 12 and allows the opportunity to progress from the Bronze Level Award through to Gold Medal accreditation.
Students negotiate their involvement in areas of Community Service, Personal Skill Development, Physical Recreation and Expedition training and experience. Twice a year the College conducts Expedition Training and the opportunity to complete the expedition requirements.
The programme is co-ordinated by the College, but centres on the individual managing and completing their negotiated tasks within their normal communities.
Assessment is conducted by school staff and the community members associated with the activities.
