At Rostrevor we recognise, embrace and celebrate the individuality, diversity and uniqueness of each and every student and create a culture that recognises the important role they play in the community, beyond the school gates.

As a Catholic College in the Edmund Rice Tradition, we draw on the guiding principles and values to instil qualities in our boys that will help them to make a difference, not only to their own lives, but those around them.

We help them to make sense of their place in the world and focus on their emotional development with the goal of producing tolerant, respectful, responsible, selfless and caring young men who have the confidence, self assurance and resilience to tackle life head on.

We emphasise the importance of relationships and provide a holistic education that gives students the opportunity to explore the kind of social skills that they must develop to promote healthy relationships.
As an actively inclusive community, students are encouraged to appreciate and respect differences and value the dignity of each individual as they come to discover their own identity.

Our community focus is achieved through:

• Weekly chapel assemblies for each House, based on themes relevant to the personal development of young men
• Religious education in Year 12 focussing on personal and life skills
• Involvement in charitable initiatives such as St Vincent de Paul, St Patrick’s Special School, Edmund Rice Camps and Project Compassion.
• Volunteering such as serving meals at Fred’s Van and organising Special Olympic sporting activities.
