ENVIRONMENTAL EDUCATION
At the beginning of this year our
Evironmental Education program took up residence in a new purpose fitted
facility. This new and exciting initiative has been designed to promote a
diverse range of Environmental Education experiences.
Schools can visit Rostrevor’s unique
Environmental Education Centre and tailor programs and activities to support
their curriculum or initiate new areas of learning.
The
Rostrevor Environmental Education Centre offers a unique opportunity for
students to learn about Australia’s
diverse Flora and Fauna.
Courses are interactive and engage students
in multi-sensory experiences. Schools and educational institutions are invited
to get up close and personal with a variety of native wildlife ranging from
pythons and tarantulas to bettongs and possums.
The College invites interest from primary
schools, secondary schools, community groups and TAFE colleges. Programs can be
tailored to suit the needs of the client and range from one-off sessions on a
particular topic to full day excursions in the bush. Plant and animal
identification, cultural walks, re-vegetation programs and biological surveys
are just a few of the activities on offer.
Also available are a range of consultancy
options. Schools or organisations can choose from whole day PD sessions, staff
meeting workshops and one on one training or planning sessions.
The Rostrevor College Environmental
Scientist can bring the wonders of the outdoors into the classroom. The aim is
to challenge and stimulate students’ interest in environmental sustainability that
will lead to lifelong attitudes.
