Last weekend saw the marking of the halfway point of Term 1 and in most classrooms much work has been set and the academic pressure is starting to mount. With teaching and learning as our major focus, it is important that all boys are reminded of their academic responsibilities in the lead up to the end of Term 1. A reminder that first contact will take place in form of an interim report which will be available on the Parent Portal from Thursday 13 April.

This will be followed by formal rounds of Parent-Student-Teacher (P-S-T) Interviews which will take place as follows:

Boarders:                                                                           Monday 01 May
Junior, Middle & Senior (Surnames A-L):                    Wednesday 10 May
Junior, Middle & Senior (Surnames M-Z):                   Thursday 18 May

Students will be dismissed at 2.30pm on Wednesday 10 & Thursday 18 May. A reminder that Year 12 P-S-T Interviews are compulsory.

Reminder: 2018 Principal Appointment

By now you should have received an email from the College on behalf of EREA to assist in the Principal consultation process. This consultation is an extremely important part of the appointment process and all members of our community are asked to get involved. Responses are required by Monday 27 March. All the necessary information can be found on the College website under latest news.

Swimming Carnivals

It was great to see all of our young men from the Junior Years all the way to our Senior Years participate in the annual swimming carnivals which took place over Thursday and Friday 2 & 3 March. In sometimes trying conditions due to the heat, the pool created a cool oasis for the competitions that took place. We congratulate all who took the chance to get actively involved in these events.

Stepping Up Program

Last week on Thursday and Friday the Year 10 students took part in their Retreat and Stepping Up Program. These two activities form a pivotal part of a young man's journey towards manhood. The time spent with his father/mentor helps form and strengthen the bond to ensure that the young man knows he has support as he continues his journey.

Reminder Open Day

A reminder that our Open Day will be held on Sunday 02 April, between 1pm and 4pm. The school will be open for visitors to view the facilities. The Open Day flyer is attached to this newsletter.

Yours in Edmund
