Winter Co-Curricular
The fixtures for the winter co-curricular season have been updated and uploaded to the Rostrevor website at https://www.rostrevor.sa.edu.au/fixtures.html.

Schools do not always play on their actual grounds; therefore, it is important to check where the match is being played. Maps are usually available by Wednesday of the upcoming weekend at the latest, but I am reliant upon the opposing school to forward this information.

After a short break for the long weekend we came up against Scotch, who had been recently promoted to Division 1 and, as was the case with Immanuel, they were very spirited early but after conceding the first goal, we settled down to win the quarter quite easily taking an 8 goal to 1 lead into the first break. The second quarter was a different story however with Scotch competing strongly. They were very organised around the restarts, delivered into the forward line well and had some dangerous forwards to convert for a 50/50 quarter.

Our leadership has been strong all year and they responded again in the second half for us to come away by 82 points in the end, but it didn't reflect how well the opposition played. We continued to move the ball the way we want to, and I thought the execution was good considering the conditions. Adjusting our game a little in the second half to be a bit more direct and not complicate it too much, I felt we got the balance right.

Our midfield was solid again with the wingmen Kaya Scott and Connor Bristow being standouts and Xavier Tranfa proving strong in close. Wyatt Fraser gave us first look at it in the ruck and our defence was good again with Cameron Taheny, Hayden Swanbury, James Warton and Kynan Kenny, until injured, rebounding well all day.

It was a tricky day because of the conditions with a lot of rain and wind but we persisted to record a good result. To kick 18 goals in those conditions means our forwards were quite efficient and we gave them plenty of chances. It was good to have Joel Size back in the team and his form early in the game, including goals, was very encouraging.

Next week we come up against another promoted team in Westminster. I am sure they will want to test themselves in the division and we will prepare for another strong challenge before breaking for the July holidays.
