2018 Return to School - Important Information

Dear parents and caregivers,

Welcome to the start of the 2018 academic year at Rostrevor. I take this opportunity to wish you well on behalf of the teachers and support staff and to extend a special welcome to all of the families joining our community for the first time this year. I trust that the school holidays and Christmas celebrations provided you with much joy surrounded by family and friends.

As you might imagine, I have much in common with all the boys who are commencing their journey at Rostrevor in 2018. I am thrilled to be starting at a new school, to becoming part of the Rostrevor community and I am very grateful for the warm welcome that I have received. At the same time, just like our newest students, I realise that I have much to learn in the months ahead and I know that it will take a little while to feel fully at home here. One thing I know for sure, is that the staff and families of Rostrevor have a wonderful reputation for making people feel welcome.

One of the best things about the structure of the school year is that it provides many opportunities for students to make fresh starts and to reset their goals in their quest to become the men who God calls them to be. Despite wanting the summer holidays to continue, the first few weeks of school is one of the best times of the year as the boys reconnect with mates and commence new courses. Over the next two weeks we will be encouraging all boys to make the most of the opportunities that lie ahead in 2018 and to enjoy each day that brings new challenges and triumphs.

I wish you all well as we begin 2018 and I look forward to meeting many of you at the various functions over the next few weeks. In the meantime, we have attached some important information regarding return to school dates and the key events over the first few days. Please do not hesitate to contact the College if you have any questions.

Yours sincerely

Brian Schumacher
Principal
