Keeping students safe

Rostrevor, along with many other schools and colleges, has seen an increase in the number of COVID cases in our community. Given that our COVID numbers were quite low in the first weeks of term, it seemed that, just maybe, we might dodge things, which unfortunately doesn't seem to be so! Our biggest form of defence is keeping students and staff who have COVID-like symptoms away from school if they are unwell and, therefore, remind families to please keep boys home if they are unwell and to follow advice from SA Health regarding testing.

Anthony Beltrame ('09) joins the Priesthood

Tomorrow's Ordination of Old Collegian Deacon Anthony Beltrame ('09) - pictured right - is of great significance to Anthony, his family, Rostrevor College and the wider church and his induction into the Priesthood is great cause for celebration. We also look forward to welcoming him back to Rostrevor College in the future to share eucharist with the boys and community. Tomorrow's 10am Mass at St Francis Xavier's Cathedral which will also be livestreamed via this link

Sibling Enrolments

As many classes are nearing capacity for 2023 and 2024 in both the Junior and Middle Years, it is important that current families submit separate enrolment applications for brothers of enrolled students. If you haven't already done so, please contact Annemarie Mein our Enrolment Officer to discuss the enrolment of any siblings who are looking to commence at the College in 2023/2024. Annemarie can be contacted on 8364 8244 or via amein@rostrevor.sa.edu.au. Please visit this link for more enrolment information

International Women's Day

To mark Tuesday's International Women's Day, Rostrevor Prefects and staff reflect on the women who have inspired, encouraged and motivated them. Thanks go to recent graduate Liam D'Silva for assisting with the production of this video.

JY Swimming Lessons

Building confidence, skills and safety in the water is an important part of the Term 1 Health and Physical Education Curriculum in the Junior Years. This week, the boys enjoyed their sessions with Royal Life Saving SA instructors in the College's on site swimming pool. See the JY Aquatics Program photo gallery here

Year 5 Brass & Woodwind Program

Rostrevor's Year 5 students are progressing well with their Trombone, Saxophone and Trumpet lessons as part of the College's dedicated Brass and Woodwind Program. It has also been encouraging to see many Year 6 students keen to continue playing and performing in JY bands after being introduced to these instruments through the program last year. Year 5 Brass and Woodwind photo gallery

Centenarian Portrait Artist Program

Congratulations to Year 12 Joel Condo who has been selected to be part of the Centenarian Portrait Project by Teenagers, which celebrates the lives of South Australians who have reached 100 years of age. The program will culminate in an exhibition in June of 100 portraits of 100-year-olds by local teenage artists, including Joel. We look forward to seeing the final product given the quality of his artwork over his years at Rostrevor, including this earlier painting.

State Swimming Championships - Tom Braunack

Good luck to swimming sensation Tom Braunack (Yr 10) who is expected to compete in a staggering 10 events (18 swims if he makes all finals) at the SA Long Course Championships in Adelaide. The 14-year-old, who brought numerous medals home from last year's event, will compete in Freestyle and Breaststroke over distances ranging from 50m to 1500m. The full program and live coverage of the racing can be accessed via: https://sa.swimming.org.au/.../2022-sa-state-age-11-18yrs...

First XI enjoys decisive win

Well done to Rostrevor's First XI which had a great 102-run win against Blackfriars in its first match back this year and congratulations to four debutants - Walter Parkyn, Booth Cassidy, Henry Brand and Joshua Mothersole. Jackson Petty performed especially well with the bat (32 runs) and ball (4/12). Credit must also go to Coach, former Redback and Old Collegian Tim Davey ('05) for getting the boys into such good shape. Enjoy this great First XI photo gallery by Claude Beltrame ('78)
