Year 9 Rite Journey
The Year 9 Rite Journey is a program new to Rostrevor this year which represents a significant portion of the cohort’s overall 2025 wellbeing program. The main goal of the program is to set students up for success in their transition into adulthood by preparing them for the experiences and responsibilities they are likely to face when they reach this stage in their lives. Additionally, the program acknowledges and celebrates each student’s shift into adulthood by engaging in conversations with trusted mentors as well as challenging experiences to build better levels of self-awareness and resilience.
On Wednesday morning this week, Year 9 students welcomed their parents/caregivers, mentors and family members to the first event of the program – the Calling and Departure Ceremony. They shared heartfelt letters of gratitude with their boys before enjoying a sunrise breakfast on the Rostrevor House Front Lawns.

Clean Up Schools Day
Rostrevor took part in the Clean Up Schools Day today alongside other schools from across Australia. It was a great opportunity for students to come together and take responsibility for keeping our school environment clean and sustainable.
The Social Justice Team believes that looking after our school should be an everyday commitment, so they took extra initiative to run emu parades at lunchtime for the whole week.
House Recycling Competition
The Social Justice Team is excited to relaunch the 10-cent bottles and cans recycling competition this week. Students are encouraged to place their used plastic bottles and cans into their House recycling bins located in the Valley.
Each week, the recycled bottles and cans will be counted, and all proceeds will go towards Project Compassion, supporting those in need. Students are asked to please refrain from bringing bottles from home.
CO-CURRICULAR NEWS
Open Water Polo
The Open Water Polo team played a very strong St Peter’s team at their home ground on Friday last week, coming away second best after a hard-fought match.
Year 4/5 Basketball
This term, Rostrevor is fielding three Year 4/5 Basketball teams of eager young players. It’s a great age to get to know the game in a fun and non-competitive environment before they reach the Middle Years competition. This week, the Year 4/5 Red team, coached by Year 12 Frazer Lawrie, played Sunrise Christian School, and the Year 4/5 Black team, coached by Year 6 teacher Nathan Czernich, played East Marden Primary School.
SACA Under 15 Cricket Squad
Congratulations to Year 10 students Archah Parisi and Jacques Malan who have both been selected to represent the State in the School Sports South Australia 15 & Under Cricket squad.
They will train alongside the State’s best cricketers in the South Australian Cricket Association’s Male Pathway Program before playing at the School Sports Australia National Championships at the end of March at West Beach, SA. Good luck, boys!
