Dear Boarding Families,

As Term 3 comes to an end, we are excited to share some of the amazing achievements, events and experiences that have filled our Boarding House with energy, pride and fun over the past ten weeks.

2026 Prefect Announcement

This term we proudly announced a record six boarders elected as College Prefects for 2026:

  • Charlie Best – Head Boarding Prefect
  • Mitchell Pearce – Aboriginal Programs Prefect
  • Harvey Pearce – Sports Prefect
  • Ashton Fleming – Webb House Captain
  • Jarrah Reidy – Murphy House Captain
  • Jack Rafanelli – O’Brien House Captain

2026 Boarding Leadership Group

Congratulations to our newly appointed Boarding Leadership Group for 2026! Joining Head Boarding Prefect Charlie in roles of responsibility are Reece Barrett and James Jervis. Reece will support Charlie as a key leadership figure within the house, while James will take on the role of Social Captain, coordinating events and activities to continue building a strong and vibrant boarding community.

Boarders of the Term – Term 2

We begin by congratulating our Boarders of the Term for Term 2, who were recognised at the Christmas in July dinner for their leadership, positive attitude and contributions to the boarding community:

  • Years 9/10: Jack Hein
  • Year 11: Jack Rafanelli
  • Year 12: Kyran Cole-Manolis

Well done to each of these boys for setting such a strong example for their peers.

House Basketball Tournament

This term’s House Basketball Competition saw Blue Team dominate the round-robin stage, going undefeated and earning the top seed heading into the finals. However, in an exciting twist, the All-Stars team made up of three top players from the other houses came out firing in the grand final, narrowly defeating Blue in a thrilling contest. The tournament was a highlight of the term, showcasing both elite talent and great house spirit.

Christmas in July

The Boarding House brought festive spirit and fashion to their Christmas in July dinner this term with a roast dinner and festive outfits. The Best Dressed award went to Jarrah Reidy, who confidently strolled into dinner in full Christmas PJs and a Santa hat, and the Runner-Up was Edward McCallum who dressed up as Santa.

SANFL Grand Final & U17 Futures Excursion

The boarders had the opportunity to attend both the SANFL Grand Final and the U17 Futures Game, with great pride in watching Year 11 boarders Harvey Pearce, Archie Simpson and Charlie Best take to the field in the state’s best young talent showcase.

In-House Competitions

  • AFL Tipping Competition Winner: Congratulations to Harry Tink for taking out top spot.
  • AFL Fantasy Grand Final: A nail-biter between James Jervis and Jarrah Reidy, with James just scraping over the line!

Golf Excursions

Our Year 9 and 10 boarders enjoyed a competitive day at Kenton Valley Golf Course in a scramble format recently. We also had a visit to an indoor golf simulator earlier in the term. Both outings were a hit and gave the boys a chance to relax, compete and build camaraderie.

Loreto Social Netball

Our Year 11 and 12 students wrapped up the term with a fun and competitive social netball evening against our sister school, Loreto College. The day was full of laughter, spirit, and some surprisingly strong performances on court!

SANFL Umpiring Achievement

Congratulations to Year 11 boarder Reece Barrett who was selected to be on the umpiring panel for the SANFL Central District vs West Adelaide Under 16 Football Grand Final at the Adelaide Oval last weekend! Although he was listed as an emergency, Reece umpired the second half of the game and was cheered on by Stuart and August.

Old Collegian Boarder AFL Debut

We were thrilled to see Jacob Newton ('24) make his AFL debut for the West Coast Eagles, joining our ever-growing list of proud boarders achieving big things on the national stage. Jacob has already made an impact on the club, kicking one goal in his two games and signing on with the Eagles through the 2026 season.

Storage Boxes

A reminder to families that from the beginning of 2026 all boarders must have a 100-litre storage container for storing items remaining in the Boarding House during school holidays (excluding summer holiday between school years). Anything that does not fit in this container or their laundry must return home during breaks. Anything left outside of these containers will be disposed of.

If you would like the Boarding House to organise a box for your son, please complete the Storage Container Order Form.

Important Dates

The last day of Term 3 is this Friday 26 September. Duggan House will close this Friday at 5.00pm. Please ensure that your son(s) has plans to return home before this time. If your son(s) travel plans are yet to be confirmed, please contact Grace Stefanato at gstefanato@rostrevor.sa.edu.au.

Duggan House will reopen on Sunday 12 October at 2.00pm in preparation for the first day of Term 4 on Monday 13 October.

We’re incredibly proud of the boarders for their achievements both in and out of Duggan House this term. Thank you for your ongoing support, and we look forward to a strong finish to the year in Term 4.
