Rostrevor College Master Plan
Over the last 18 months we have been working on the development of a new Master Plan for the College, a new vision for our facilities into the future. Working in partnership with Edge Architects, we have designed spaces to enrich learning, strengthen community and a place where every student can thrive. We are excited to be stepping into the next chapter in the College’s proud story, as we continue to build a legacy that is grounded in tradition, focused on tomorrow for generations to come.

Claire Clutterham MP Visit
Today a group of Rostrevor’s current and future student leaders welcomed member of the Australian Parliament for the Division of Sturt Claire Clutterham MP to the College. The group engaged in an insightful discussion around what it means to be a good leader in today’s world and how they can best represent their peers as they embrace their leadership positions in 2026. We thank Claire for her time today and invaluable advice about listening to those you represent, the importance of transparency in decision making and the strength that can be found in the unity of a leadership team.
EREA Primary Leaders Day
Year 6 student leaders from fellow Adelaide Edmund Rice schools, St Paul’s College and Christian Brothers College, joined Rostrevor’s Year 6 leaders here yesterday for the final EREA Primary Leaders Day for 2025. Across the year they have gathered at St Paul’s and CBC to participate in activity days aimed at fostering friendships across the schools with a focus on working collaboratively to brainstorm charity and wellbeing initiatives. Yesterday, the Year 6s were able to share how their efforts had gone throughout the year in between team building and problem-solving activities.
P.A.R.T.Y Program
Yesterday a group of Years 10 and 11 students participated in the Prevent Alcohol and Risk-related Trauma in Youth Program (P.A.R.T.Y.) which draws on the experiences of trauma professionals and trauma survivors to educate young people, by showing them what can happen when they make a risky decision.
The Program focuses on preventing accidents before they happen by giving secondary school students real-life experiences in the emergency and trauma units of the Royal Adelaide Hospital. It features doctors, nurses, emergency workers and allied health professionals who volunteer their time to tell their stories in the hope that they can help reduce the incidence of trauma.
Unlike other programs, P.A.R.T.Y. takes place in a hospital, not a classroom. The Program enhances the experience for participants and leaves a significant and lasting impression of the consequences of risk-taking behaviour and the trauma that can result.
Little Rossi Learners
The new 2026 Reception students have been enjoying their Little Rossi Learners transition sessions over the past few weeks, developing their routines, friendships and sense of belonging before they officially begin in Term 1. The boys have grown in confidence over their four sessions, and, after the final two sessions this term, will be ready to launch into their learning journeys in 2026.
Once Upon a Festival
Last week, Rostrevor students joined with students from many other schools to celebrate reading, writing and drawing at 'Once Upon a Festival' held at Immanuel College. The festival gave students the opportunity to meet and work with a range of Australian authors and illustrators, which they embraced with enthusiasm!
Office Closure Notice
Please be advised that on Tuesday next week, 11 November, the Front Office and Junior Years Office will both be temporarily closed from 10.45am to 11.10am to allow all members of our College staff to attend Rostrevor's Remembrance Day service. Both offices will resume normal opening hours after this time.
CO-CURRICULAR NEWS
Tennis
The Term 4 Tennis season is underway, and the summer of Tennis is fast approaching! With a strong win over St Paul’s and tightly contested matches against St Peter’s and Scotch College, the Rostrevor Drive Team is shaping up for a successful campaign. Our Senior B team has made an impressive start, barely dropping a set in their opening rounds, and with emerging talent shining through the Middle and Junior Years, it’s set to be an exciting season of Tennis ahead.
Cricket
The First XI Friday night T20 match came to a thrilling finish last week with Rostrevor winning in a super over after a courageous knock from Alecs Zorzi in his final game for the College. Needing 48 off the last 19 balls, Alecs steered the way getting us 47 runs off the final 19 balls. This sent us into a super over where captain Archah Parisi stood up, gaining us 14 runs in the super over. It was then back to Archah with the ball to guide us to victory keeping St Ignatius to only five runs.
Saturday saw a tough loss against a quality opposition in St Peter’s. A minute silence was held prior to the game with players, coaches and umpires to honour the life of young Victorian cricketer, Ben Austin who tragically lost his life after being struck by a cricket ball during a training session. Rostrevor’s cricketers send their sympathies to Ben's family and wider community.
Rostrevor College's ovals are a hive of activity on Saturdays in Term 4, hosting a range of Junior, Middle and Senior Years Cricket matches. Thank you to the families of the players who support them to be able to participate in matches each week.
Handball
Handball has started up again for the Term 4 season, with eager and dedicated players training at the Handball courts every Friday afternoon under guidance from some of South Australia’s most decorated players. Our College is lucky to have the best three wall Handball courts in the southern hemisphere where members of the wider community have been playing and training for generations, and in the hands of Rostrevor’s current training squad, can continue for generations to come.
SA All Schools State Athletics Championship
Congratulations to Spencer De Lacy and Harry Whalan who have both qualified to compete for South Australia at the 2025 Chemist Warehouse Australian Athletics All Schools Championship in December. Harry’s performance in Hammer Throw and Discus at the SA All Schools State Championship earned him two bronze medals and an invitation to the national event, and although injury prevented Spencer from competing, his outstanding past performances and national ranking in Long Jump and Triple Jump gave him a free pass to compete. We wish the boys luck as they travel to Melbourne for the Championship in Week 8.
Congratulations also go to Luca Marinelli who won a bronze medal for Long Jump at the SA All Schools State Championship, only narrowly missing out on qualifying to join the state team alongside Spencer and Harry!
