
Rostrevor has a strong and enduring tradition of supporting and developing quality footballers, and has seen ten graduates drafted to AFL clubs in the past six years.
At Rostrevor, we understand there’s more to being an elite athlete than just training and playing. The Rostrevor College Football Program incorporates academic and personal growth into each student's development targets.
· Develop players that go on to play AFL, SANFL or be exceptional local footballers;
· Create long-term opportunities for graduates to be involved with football, not only as a player, but also as a coach, umpire or administrator; and
· Cement and strengthen Rostrevor’s place as one of South Australia’s leading football Colleges.
Each week in winter, Rostrevor fields four Junior Year teams, starting from Year 2, and an impressive eight sides from our Middle and Senior years, including our First XVIII team featuring a number of State Squad players.
Mr Allan is Rostrevor College's Director of Football with an outstanding sporting resume. He is a three-time winner of the SANFL's highest individual honour, the Magarey Medal. In conjunction with First XVIII Coach, Scott Uppington, Mr Allan oversees the entire Football Program at Rostrevor ensuring skills development and opportunity for participation across all levels and age groups.
Mr Allan teaches Health & Physical Education, Mathematics and Science in the Middle and Senior Years.
Rostrevor has had ten graduates drafted to AFL clubs in the past six years, as well as eight Old Scholars playing in the SANFL Grand Final in 2022.
Max Michalanney ('21) was number 17 in the AFL Draft, picked up by Adelaide FC. He is the team's first father-son selection.
The senior Redlegs team has been bolstered in 2022 by 12 Rostrevor graduates.
