Rostrevor's Football Program integrates with the College Curriculum to develop talented young players and help them reach their full potential.

At Rostrevor, we understand there’s more to being an elite athlete than just training and playing. The Rostrevor College Football Program incorporates academic and personal growth into each student's development targets.

Rostrevor’s Football Program strives to:

  • Develop players that go on to play AFL, SANFL or be exceptional local footballers;
  • Create long-term opportunities for graduates to be involved with football, not only as a player, but also as a coach, umpire or administrator; and

Club Representation

In addition to our successful College teams, our players represent clubs including Norwood, Glenelg, Sturt and North Adelaide with many strong connections between our College and SA's football fraternity.
 

Each week in winter, Rostrevor fields four Junior Year teams, starting from Year 2, and an impressive eight sides from our Middle and Senior years, including our First XVIII team featuring a number of State Squad players.

Football Success

Rostrevor has had 11 graduates drafted to AFL clubs in the past seven years, as well as eight Old Scholars playing in the SANFL Grand Final in 2022.

 


2023 AFL Draft

  • Will Rowlands was selected at Pick 18 by the Gold Coast Suns FC in the 2023 AFL Rookie Draft. 

2022 AFL Draft

  • Max Michalanney was number 17 in the AFL Draft, picked up by Adelaide FC. He is the team's first father-son selection. 


AFL Academy 

  • Rostrevor boarder, Orlando Turner was selected in the 2023 NAB AFL Academy.
  • He was identified as one of the 30 most talented 17-year-old footballers in Australia. 

Norwood League Side

  • The senior Redlegs team was bolstered in 2022 by 12 Rostrevor graduates.


2021 AFL Draft

  • Alastair Lord was selected by Essendon at pick 46.
  • Hugh Jackson was selected by Port Adelaide at pick 55.

A Professional Approach

  • Rostrevor College has partnered with industry experts, Pushing Performance to deliver high-quality strength and conditioning training to students in the Athlete Development Program.
  • Teams are supported by College teachers and professional coaches.
  • Students regularly participate in SAPSASA, State and national competitions.
