At Rostrevor College, we value the importance of our dedicated volunteers who generously give of their time to undertake many roles within the College.
Thank you for your willingness to become a volunteer at Rostrevor College. Volunteers play an important role in the education of children and young people in partnership with the staff of Catholic schools. Volunteering helps provide quality care and education to our children and young people and supports Catholic Schools to promote values drawn from the Catholic tradition of faith, in order to prepare students for more active participation in the world. It is important that your involvement and participation is a rewarding and a mutually beneficial experience.
Arising from Legislation changes to the Child Safety (Prohibited Persons) Act 2016, effective from 1 July 2019, everyone who works or volunteers with children will require a Working with Children Check.
Rostrevor College's Child Safe Policy is our overarching document that provides key elements of our approach to protecting our students from abuse, grooming and neglect.
This policy forms the foundation of the College's policy framework, procedures and practices, and ultimately the College's culture with respect to child safety. It is designed to be Rostrevor College's public statement of commitment to child safety and a demonstration of the College leaders' commitment to champion child safety in our College. The full policy is available on the College website.
To assist our volunteers with the process of gaining a Working with Children Check and Catholic Police Check, we have simplified our procedure and included all necessary documentation, forms and links on our website here.
Once again, thank you for becoming a volunteer at our College and welcome to our community. We trust your experience as a volunteer will be rewarding for you.
Yours sincerely
