Principal's Ball

I’m looking forward to my first Principal’s Ball tomorrow night at the InterContinental and am delighted that our Year 12s and their guests will have the opportunity to celebrate this significant right of passage. I would like to thank and acknowledge the work of the Prefects, College Leadership and support staff for all the behind-the-scenes work to ensure tomorrow will be a night to remember for our young people. We look forward to sharing pictures of all the finery next week!

GWS Academy star - Matthew Brown

Year 11 boarder Matthew Brown was named in the top three best players in his GWS Academy match against the Sydney Academy side (played in Canberra on the weekend). The emerging talent from Orange, NSW, joined Rostrevor College this year alongside George Kemp (Yr 11) also from Orange in response to the academic and sporting excellence the College offers.

Winemaking on the Farm

As part of the Year 11 Agriculture curriculum, students learn about winemaking using grapes grown on-site on the Rostrevor farm. Using a blend of Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot grapes, the boys exhibit all the practical skills necessary to make their own wine. They are involved in all parts of the process, from testing the sugar levels and harvesting, all the way to finally bottling the wine they have worked so hard to make. It's an enjoyable experience with many valuable skills learnt along the way.

South East Field Days

Rostrevor College is well represented at this week's South East Field Days with a great display prepared by Enrolments Officer Annemarie Mein and supported by Deputy Principal - Dean of Faculty, Nicole Laube. Our staff had the opportunity to catch up with Mr Justin Elliott, the father of Year 12 student Hunter Elliott and many other South East families.
